Professional experience of Dr Ružica Tomičić as a Research Associate at the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, includes microbiological research in the field of medicine and food safety, as well as molecular biology. Research is focused on studying the virulence factors of pathogens, their identification and whole genome sequencing, antimicrobial activity of natural compounds (essential oils, plant extracts, phenols...) and disinfectants in the prevention and elimination of microbial biofilms. Studies also include investigating the application of natural compounds and probiotics in food in order to create functional products.
