Asst. Prof. Nilgün Güler is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in chemistry and medical biology. She currently holds a position at Kayseri University's Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu Vocational School, focusing on the Chemistry and Chemical Processing Technologies Program. Her academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Hacettepe University (1990–1996), followed by postgraduate studies in Veterinary Sciences at Erciyes University (2002–2005). She earned her doctorate in Medical Biology from Erciyes University in 2016.

Proficient in English at a B2 level, she has an extensive portfolio of research and teaching interests, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, natural products, histology, and health sciences. She has participated in numerous projects exploring the application of plant extracts in biochemical processes, natural dye production, and medical applications such as tissue staining.

Her career spans various roles at Erciyes and Kayseri Universities, including positions as a lecturer and assistant professor. Administratively, she has served as both the Head and Deputy Head of departments, contributing significantly to the academic structure of her institution.

Asst. Prof. Güler is an active researcher with numerous publications indexed in prestigious journals such as Dalton Transactions and Chemistry and Biodiversity. Her works delve into DNA binding, antioxidant properties of natural compounds, and applications of phthalocyanines in medical sciences. Her contributions to education include courses in biochemistry, organic chemistry, medical imaging, and biotechnology.

Her achievements extend to international conferences, peer-reviewed projects, and scientific memberships, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and education. She is a member of several scientific organizations, including the Turkish Biochemistry Association, and has served as a reviewer for various indexed journals. Her work has earned her citations in Web of Science and Scopus, highlighting her influence in the scientific community.

Beyond academia, she has contributed to industrial applications, aligning her expertise in chemistry with real-world processes, such as dye and textile treatment. This multidisciplinary approach underscores her versatility as a scientist and educator.
